I love Leland! I made sure to take Amanda and her friend, Laura, up that way when we left from Traverse. I'm so glad we met you (with our sketchbooksw out) at the Chinese restaurant across from our hotel. Your work is really good. I know I've told you that before, but it is truly amazing.

a travel poster, hm. as a critique, it seems like a spooky place to be, not too inviting. maybe it's the stained texture or the color palette. maybe that was the purpose, idk. i still like it tho, just doesn't seem inviting enough to be a travel poster. someone probably already mentioned it during your critique in class haha

Well, I was worried that would be a problem, but it didn't come up in the crit. I agree with you though. I want to keep this as it is because I like it, but I think I'll do a day-time version when I get the chance.

i still like the night time look to it. hm..i think it's the purple and green, along with the texture that make it kinda spooky. the colors remind me of your voodoo pieces actually. you can probably just use a different nighttime color palette and it would work well.

looks a little sinister to me. reminds me of that story by h.p lovecraft 'The Shadow Over Innsmouth" about the town populated by mutated fish people.

I am! I assume you are too :) If you ever get the chance to go to Leland, definitely do. It's a great little town.
